VNPT Technology won the bid to supply IPTV / OTT television equipment and solutions in Nepal
On October 14, 2019, the joint venture contractor VNPT Technology and Kalash successfully signed a cooperation agreement to provide IPTV / OTT internet TV service to the largest network in Nepal - Nepal Telecom.
Nepal Telecom, the government-owned telco, is the largest provider and operator of telecommunications services in this country. On June 10, 2019, Nepal Telecom had called a Global tender to provide IPTV service to its customers. After competing with many other international competitors, VNPT Technology - Kalash Joint Venture has successfully won an agreement to provide IPTV / OTT services to Nepal market. This agreement will be implemented in 5 years from the date of signing and then the parties can negotiate to extend the implementation time.

Up to now, VNPT Technology has successfully signed several equipment supply contracts in Laos, Myanmar, Indonesia and Cambodia as well as cooperated with many telcos in other countries in Southeast Asia to develop the market together.
Internet television IPTV / OTT is a field with many exploitation opportunities for the telecommunications industry. According to the agreement, Nepal Telecom will use IPTV / OTT platform and equipment of VNPT Technology - Kalash Joint Venture to provide broadcast TV and Video on Demand services to customers. In particular, VNPT Technology will provide the entire set-top box for this project. It is expected that from the beginning of 2020, Nepal Telecom will start providing services to their customers.
This agreement marks VNPT Technology's official entry into Nepal's information technology and telecommunications market, a great step in the company's expansion into international markets. In the coming time, VNPT Technology will continue searching for cooperation opportunities abroad, confirming its position as a leading technology company in the region.
