Minister of Communications of the Republic of Cuba has visited VNPT Technology’s Hi tech Park

On May 3, Minister of Communications of the Republic of Cuba – Mr. Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella has a visit to Hoa Lac Hi tech Park of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). The leaders of VNPT Group, VNPT-Technology Company and the affiliates of VNPT welcome the delegation of Cuban Ministry of Communications.

At the meeting, General Director of VNPT Group Mr. Pham Duc Long expressed his pleasure to welcome the Minister of Communications of the Republic of Cuba to visit and work at the Hi-Tech Park of VNPT. Sharing with the delegation, Mr. Pham Duc Long said that VNPT Group has officially implemented a new development strategy with the goal of shifting from traditional telecommunication service provider to digital service provider, to become the leading digital service provider in Vietnam and the Digital Transaction Center of Asia.

Especially, VNPT Technology Company - a member unit of VNPT Group has cooperated with the world top technology companies to research, develop and introduce the next generation of these products such as ONT device and Wifi Access Point; 4G LTE products such as: LTE Router, LTE Mifi, LTE Small Cell; IoT products such as Smart Home, Smart Factory. In addition, VNPT has also put a high-tech fiber optic factory into operation with a total output of 3.2 million km/year.

At the meeting, the Cuban Minister of Communications said that currently the Cuban Government is interested in the process of computerization of Cuban society, and also pays much attention to the field of cybersecurity. The Cuban Government would adopt a Decree on IT industry security in the coming . Cuban Minister of Communications also said that during this trip, the delegation would learn the actual situation of 4G network development in Vietnam. The Minister also expects VNPT Group to share experiences in the fields of 4G network development, Telecommunications and IT. The Minister also hoped that Cuban and VNPT enterprises would discuss the specific cooperation in the fields that Cuban interested in such as research and develop technological products to serve the development of telecommunication networks. Particularly, building factories which would manufacture high-tech products such as Technology or Postef.

Earlier, on May 2, 2019, the Cuban Minister of Communications and Communications also had a meeting with Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Vietnam's Minister of Information and Communications. At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that Vietnam as well as telecommunications and ICT enterprises would be ready to help Cuba with all its best, whenever requested by Cuba.

The Minister of Communications expressed his pleasure at Vietnam's achievements in the field of Telecommunications and ICT. The Cuban government is currently very interested in the computerization as well as cyber security. Therefore, during this trip, the delegation of the Cuban Ministry of Communications will explore the reality of 4G network development in Vietnam.

Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella was also looking forward to Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications to share the management experience in the field of network security, 4G network development, building a legal framework in the field of Telecommunications and ICT. At the same time, enterprises of both parties would discuss the specific cooperation in the field of ICT.
